Breast Imaging

The modalities for breast imaging include mammogram, MRI, and ultrasound. All 3 are safe during lactation, and do not require cessation or interruption of breastfeeding.1

Directly breastfeeding the child or pumping before the mammogram is advised to improve sensitivity of the test.1
