Breastfeeding has not been identified as a significant source of transmission of the Sars-COV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease. Breastfeeding parents who are infectious with COVID-19 are advised to wash their hands and wear a mask when directly breastfeeding, expressing milk, or when holding their infant(s).
