Hepatitis C Virus
Despite the fact that hepatitis C RNA has been found in breastmilk of mothers infected with hepatitis C, transmission of hepatitis C virus has not been documented to occur through breastfeeding. Mothers who are + for hepatitis C virus should consider refraining from breastfeeding if they have cracked/bleeding nipples1.
